Hey friend,

Happy Autumn 🍂

The season of crispy leaves, costumes, and pumpkin-flavored everything.

And I feel like this turning of the season is especially significant. This newsletter is going to be 5yrs old in January 🤯

If Growth Currency were a kid, we'd be graduating from preschool to Kindergarten.

But the truth is...

This newsletter feels more like a wayward teenager: searching for direction and meaning. (Thankfully still dodging that awkward, acne phase..)

Here's a little more context to the waywardness. Last week I posted something "honest" on LinkedIn:

And I got some great responses to this post.

LaToya shared:

"I would like to read more about the basics; the things that we should be doing no matter if we have 1,000 subscribers or 1 million."

Matt confessed:

"I’d be curious about the monetization of newsletters."

Kate opined:

"Part of the issue might be that your audience is growing with you and you're ready to have more nuanced conversations with them but the newbies still need the basics."

And Katelyn's comment really hit home:

"I’m obviously biased, but I think you should focus on a specific problem and then choose the target audience who feels that problem acutely. I’ve got some problems of my own I’d happily share."

These replies gave me some ideas.

But you, Reader, are my newsletter subscriber. So I want to hear from you.

What is the biggest problem (or challenge) with your newsletter & content?

I want to help YOU—but I don't know what you don't know. I want this newsletter to be a win for you. And hitting reply with your problem(s) and challenges will make it a win for both of us 🤝

The 3-Step Onboarding Process To More Engaged Subs

First impressions matter.

Are you making the best possible first impression when someone subscribes to your newsletter?

We believe there are 3 key components to a proper onboarding experience.

And most of us kinda suck at it 😬
The experience is not, as the kids are saying, 6-7.

Either one of the steps is missing—OR—each step needs major improvements.

And that's where we come in.

We're helping you resurrect your onboarding experience from the dead with Chenell's simple 3-Step Process—we cover it in depth with examples in the latest GIR podcast episode.

Bonus: use the three "C's" to your newsletter landing page conversion.
